Google Analytics Universal expires in July 2023 – here are the other options

On March 16, Google released the news that Google Analytics (GA3) stops working and thus disappears completely from 1 July 2023. The replacement is Google Analytics 4 (GA4) which was rolled out during the last part of 2020. Generous as Google is, there still able to access historical data up to six months after that date. After this, the property disappears completely.

This is a big change for all sites and webmasters using Google Analytics Universal today.

The news has reached many but we understand that it can be perceived as confusing and disturbing. The most common questions we have been asked are: What happens to collected data? If we have conversion tracking today, then will we be able to move over it?

Benefits of GA4

The most common is that you can get roughly the same basic data as in the old Google Analytics, in the new GA4, but with better insight and reporting capabilities. New features have been added so that you as a website owner can have a better opportunity for measurement and tracking.

While the pros outweigh the cons, it may be worth thinking about this one more time.

We have for some time now been well prepared for this and have carefully examined the other available alternatives.
