A website and app where Roks can support young girls and inform about violence. When Roks wanted to make a new site aimed at young girls, we talked about developing a little sister site for Roks. Rokstjejjourer.se stands on two legs, one to inform about men’s violence against girls and one to support through the chat. At the same time as the website was developed, an app was also built where the support applicants can chat with girls’ shelters and also document events.
A feasibility study was done together with Roks where we discussed how we would clarify the purpose of the site and reach out to young girls throughout Sweden. We at Awave developed a graphic profile for Roks girls’ shelters, while the work of producing illustrations, texts and pictures was developed by a very committed Rocks on-call. As Roks put it, we have together built “The World’s finest website”.
Rokstjejjourer.se is built in Drupal with a global external site and the girls ‘shelters’ own pages under the same umbrella. Integrated on the site is an external chat tool, with room for each on-call. The intranet is built for the girls’ shelters where they can collaborate. After the website and the app were launched, the collaboration between Roks and Awave continues.
The Sofie app provides spicy, inspiring and loving quotes every day. Behind the quote page, hides a documentation section where it is possible to keep a diary of what happened during the day and there is also the opportunity to chat with girls’ shelters. Sofie is built in React Native and is available in the App Store and Google Play. Do you need support from the girls’ shelters, or want to read more? Visit rokstjejjourer.se or download the Sofie app in the Appstore or Google play.
